Supported Employment


Core to the approach taken by New Horizons Partnership in moving clients from dependence towards independence is the involvement of the business community in providing opportunities for those clients to do real, paid work, in a real work setting.

Our supported employment service aims to improve the quality of life for individuals with learning disabilities by providing them with:

 


The service takes account of the needs of the individuals, their interests and aptitudes. The supported employment team also fosters close links with the business community and is sensitive to their needs and expectations.

Operating like a match-making service, the team facilitates any necessary training and helps clients to find a suitable job in their area of interest: one which is mutually beneficial to both client and employer. The Supported Employment service at New Horizons
is managed by Maeve McElroy, pictured below.

New Horizons Partnership is a member of the Northern Ireland Union of Supported Employment (NIUSE), which is part of the European Union of Supported Employment (EUSE).
