Frequently Asked Questions
Organisations interested in accessing
the Independent Travel Training Programme typically have questions about the
programme itself and about the associated Training for Trainers programme.
Click on the links below to download MS Word documents that address these
frequently asked questions.
- Typical questions about the Independent Travel Training Programme (the programme organisations use to train end users to travel independently)
- Typical questions about the Training for Trainers Programme (the programme delivered by New Horizons to train your staff in how to deliver the ITT programme/become travel trainers at their organisations)
The Training for Trainers programme teaches candidates how to use training
materials (including workbooks, assessment sheets and multimedia animations)
to plan and deliver a training programme at your organisations. Essentially,
it focuses on how to extract and use information from an IT resource (multimedia
CD-Rom resource) in order to apply it in the classroom.
Please note that the specialised skills that one needs to develop in order
to become a trainer or to teach a learning disabled client are beyond the
remit of this programme and are not the focus of this course. These skills
are a suggested prerequisite to training (as listed in the FAQ).
If there are any questions that we have not answered for you in these documents,
please feel free to email Gerry.
